.: Lee Morse - I'm An Unemployed Sweetheart (1931) :.
Lee Morse (November 30, 1897 — December 16, 1954) was an US Jazz and Blues
singer and songwriter whose most popular years were in the 1920s and
early 1930s, although her career began around 1917 and continued until
her death in 1954. Morse was known for her strong, deep singing voice
and vocal range, which often belied the fact that she was merely five
feet tall and weighed less than 100 pounds. Among her best known
trademarks was her yodeling (!). Morse was also moderately successful as an actress on the Broadway (source: Wikipedia)

.: Jugendstil Carafe from 1906 :.
Here is a very fine ceramic bathing pitcher with a brass figural mermaid handle. We found her in a little shop along the trail back from exploring Burg Karlstein, southwest of Prague in the Czech Republic.

.: Alarm Clock by DEP, 1930´s :.
Durée, Elégance, Précision - durability, elegance, precision - the marketing words used in DEP clocks advertisements in the 1920's and 30's. The brand DEP came from the family name
Dépéry who were well-established clockmakers as well as clock parts
manufacturers and flourished between 1826 and 1954. With
the downturn of the early 1930's falling into a full-blown economic
depression, the retail market in many sectors collapsed and clock makers
were no exception. People
simply did not purchase non-essentials. DEP tried to weather the storm
by producing more utilitarian alarm clocks. But
the competition for the utilitarian clock market was fierce and finally
after WWII, the clock brand DEP disapppeared completely. (from sushi´s blog)

.: Lalique Art Deco Automotive Mascots :.
The chronologer of vintage photography and style, Retronaut, features a selection from the catalogue of RM Auction Houses of Florida of these exquisite so-called automobile mascots produced by Lalique from 1925 to 1932. I suppose this exceedingly rare series could not quite qualify as hood ornaments, as I think none would have weathered the elements or traffic so well, but maybe as dashboard ornaments, they were the more elegant predecessors of nodding-headed figures and fuzzy dice.
