.: Beer-Warmers by WMF :.

When I first saw these vintage nickel-silver cylinders from WMF, I thought they were some sort of special test tubes from a mad scientist’s laboratory. These metal canisters, however, are like thermoses and would be filled with water and kept aside in a warm bath to be on hand and ready to warm a customer's beer.
Beer ought to be enjoyed just below room temperature and apparently there was enough cold beer and enough particular customers to create a demand for such fancy and fussy things. The pair bear the older mark WÜRTT[EMBERGISHER] METALLW[ARE] FABRIK GEISLINGEN-STEIGE NS (for Nickel-Silver) with a WMF impress and a 3.6. A third chrome beer-warmer is in the background for illustration purposes, to show how they would hang on the brim of the mug. and not get in the way of one's enjoyment.
